Religious or non-religious funerals
Every life is unique – and every funeral can be too. We help arrange religious, non-religious and blended funeral services, working closely with local clergy, humanist celebrants and independent celebrants to ensure the ceremony reflects your wishes. Whether you would like a traditional church service, a fully non-religious ceremony, or something in between, we will guide you through the arrangements.
Religious funerals
Many families choose a funeral led by their faith tradition. This may take place in a church, chapel or other place of worship, and can include prayers, hymns, readings and religious rituals according to your beliefs.
We regularly work with local clergy and faith leaders across the area and will liaise with them on your behalf. Once we have gathered your wishes, the officiant will usually arrange to meet you to discuss the service in more detail. Whether the service is traditional or slightly adapted, we will ensure everything is organised respectfully and smoothly.

Non-religious funerals
Some families prefer a ceremony that does not include religious content. A non-religious funeral is often led by a humanist celebrant or independent celebrant. These services focus on celebrating and reflecting on the life of the person who has died, rather than religious belief.
- They may include:
- Personal stories and memories
- Favourite music
- Readings or poetry
- Tributes from family and friends
We work with experienced celebrants who will take time to meet you, learn about your loved one, and create a service that feels meaningful and personal.
Blended or flexible services
Not every funeral fits neatly into one category. Some families choose a service that combines religious and personal elements. For example:
- A traditional church service followed by a personalised committal
- Religious prayers alongside personal readings
- A humanist ceremony that includes spiritual reflection
We are experienced in arranging services of all types and will make sure your wishes are communicated clearly to the officiant.
Where can the service take place?
Religious or non-religious ceremonies can be held in:
- A church (religious only)
- A crematorium chapel
- A cemetery
- Or another suitable venue
We will help you choose the setting that best reflects your needs and the type of service you would like.
How we help
Once we understand your wishes, we will:
- Contact the chosen clergy or celebrant
- Pass on all relevant information
- Coordinate timings and arrangements
- Ensure everything runs smoothly on the day
You do not need to organise this alone, we will take care of the practical arrangements.
Not sure what you would prefer?
That is completely normal. We are here to talk through the options in a calm, straightforward way. Whether the service is deeply traditional, entirely non-religious, or somewhere in between, we will help you create something fitting and respectful.
Personal touches
Every funeral can include meaningful details that reflect the life being remembered. From music and readings to photographs and personal tributes, we can help you add thoughtful touches to the service.
